The eSourcing Chat function allows you to communicate directly with the buyer during a sourcing activity.
You can use it to ask questions, request clarification, or receive important updates. Each supplier has their own private chat with the buyer, and there is also a broadcast channel for announcements that go to all suppliers but cannot be replied to.
When to Use This Feature
Use the eSourcing Chat when:
You need to clarify requirements or specifications for the sourcing event.
You want to send documents or additional information to the buyer.
You need to confirm deadlines or submission requirements.
You receive a broadcast announcements from the buyer.

Step-by-Step Guide – Using the Chat
1, Access the Sourcing Activity
Log in to the supplier portal.
From your eSourcing activities list, open the sourcing activity you wish to communicate about.
2. Open the Chat Tab
Once inside the sourcing activity, select the Chat tab
You will see two types of chat channels:
Your Private Chat – Messages here are between you and the buyer only.
Broadcast Messages – Announcements from the buyer to all suppliers. You cannot reply in this channel or see other suppliers involved in the sourcing process.
3. Send a Message in Your Private Chat
Click into your private chat channel.
Type your message in the text box at the bottom of the screen.
Use the attachment icon to upload files (maximum 25MB per file). Supported file types include common document and image formats.
Click Send to deliver your message.
4. View and Download Attachments
If the buyer sends you a file, you can click on the file name to download it directly to your device.
5. Check Broadcast Messages
Broadcast messages will appear in the Broadcast Message channel.
These are one-way messages from the buyer, often containing important updates or instructions.
You cannot reply in this channel.
6. Notifications
You will receive an email notification when you have a new message from the buyer.

✅ Use the private chat for all questions related to your bid — this ensures your communication remains confidential.
✅ Keep file attachments within the 25MB limit and ensure they are in accepted formats.
✅ Be clear and concise in your messages to help the buyer respond quickly.
