The onboarding wizard opens the first time you sign in after signing up for oboloo. Answer a few questions and it sets up your first area of oboloo, such as supplier document types, a scorecard and document renewals, for you to check before anything is added.

Before you start

The wizard is shown to new accounts straight after sign-up. It takes a few minutes. Most steps after you choose an area can be skipped, and you can set up other areas later from your Home dashboard.

Confirm your details and choose an area

Click Build my platform

The Welcome to oboloo screen opens after you sign in. A progress bar at the top shows your step, and Back takes you to the previous step.

Check your company details

On Let's get you set up., oboloo fills in what it can from your work email's website. Check or change each field:

Field

What to enter

Organisation

Your organisation's name.

What does your organisation do?

A short description. oboloo uses it to suggest your setup.

Language, Timezone, Base currency, Date format

Your defaults. Date format is MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.

Logo

Click Change to upload a PNG or JPEG, or Use oboloo default.

Click Yes, that's right.

💡 Tip: The base currency you choose here gets an exchange rate of 1.0000 and appears first in every currency list. You can change language, currency and date format later under Settings > Company Settings.

Choose what to set up first

Under What would you like to do first in oboloo?, choose Managing suppliers, risk & compliance, Contracts & renewals, Track procurement savings or Not sure yet, then click Continue. Not sure yet follows the suppliers route.

Answer the questions

Tell oboloo what you want it to do for you (suppliers and savings) and which documents you collect (suppliers and contracts), for example insurance, anti-bribery, tax certificates, NDAs. Click Continue.

Review what oboloo has built

oboloo shows its progress as it builds your setup. Click Take a look at what we've built.

Edit any name, click Remove to delete an item, or type a new one and click Add. Then click Add these document types (or Add these savings types). To keep nothing, click Skip this step.

Finish setting up suppliers

Check your supplier scorecard

Edit the Scorecard name, Description, categories, questions and weightings. You can have up to 5 categories. Each category needs a name and at least one question, and the weightings must add up to 100%.

Click Add this scorecard, or Skip this step.

Check your document renewal timings

oboloo switches on automatic requests for replacement supplier documents. Set how many days before expiry the first request goes out, and the follow-ups when a supplier hasn't responded, then click Sounds good.

Choose how to add your first supplier

Choose Add a supplier and request documents, or Onboard a supplier with documents and a scorecard, then click Continue.

Send the request or onboarding package

Enter the Supplier name, Contact name and Contact email. To request documents, tick the ones you need and click Request these documents. To onboard, check the Default Onboarding Package and click Send package and start onboarding.

To do this later, click Skip — I'll add suppliers later or Skip — import suppliers in bulk next.

Finish setting up contracts

Check your contract document renewal timings

oboloo switches on automatic requests for replacement contract documents. Adjust the timings and click Sounds good.

Add your first contract

Enter the Contract title, Supplier and End date, plus the Notice period if there is one. Click Watch this contract, or Skip — I'll add contracts later.

Request contract documents

Tick the document types you need from the supplier, add the Contact name and Contact email, and click Request contract documents from supplier. Or click Skip — I'll request documents later.

Finish setting up savings

Check your savings reminders

oboloo warns you automatically when a saving is due for completion or approval. There's nothing to set, so click Sounds good.

Start tracking your first saving

Click Start tracking your first saving. The savings creation wizard opens in a new tab, using the savings types you approved. Or click Skip — I'll add savings later.

What happens next

  • You're done: the last screen summarises what's live. From there you can import suppliers or contracts in a new tab, set up another area, or click Go to my dashboard.

  • Your setup is saved in oboloo: the document types, scorecard, Default Onboarding Package, renewal automations and savings types you approved can all be changed later in Settings.

  • Finish setting up: your Home dashboard (click Home in the left-hand menu, below oboloo AI) shows a Finish setting up card for the areas you haven't set up, and module pages show reminders too. Click an area's button to run the wizard for it, Later to stop the reminder, or Remind me later to hide the card for 12 hours.

  • Company Settings: the Module setup card in Settings > Company Settings shows each area's status. Click Set up to run the wizard for an unfinished area, Restore to bring back hidden reminders, or Permanently Hide Set Up Banners On All Pages.

  • Leaving part-way: your progress is saved. When you sign in again, you'll come back to the step you left.

Troubleshooting

oboloo didn't find my logo or description

The lookup uses the website for your work email address, so personal email addresses and some websites return nothing. Enter the details yourself, or upload your logo later. See Add or Update Your Company Logo.

I can't continue past the scorecard

Every category needs a name and at least one question, every question needs text, and the weightings must add up to 100%.

I can't run the wizard again for an area I've finished

Finished areas can't be run through the wizard again. Change the document types, scorecards, packages and automations in Settings instead.

It says it started me with a standard setup

oboloo couldn't build a tailored setup, so it used a standard one. Review the list and edit, remove or add anything before you continue.
